Greg Carroll is an accomplished musician, singer/songwriter and member of the Qulipu Mi’maq First Nations band. Hailing from St George’s Newfoundland, Greg started playing guitar at age 9 & by age 16 he played bass & sang in various cover bands in the area. A graduate of St Fx with BA Music Major Jazz studies under the tutelage of Skip Beckwith , Greg then headed west to Saskatchewan, Alberta where he gigged with various country bands in the mid to late 90s. A brief music teaching stint at High Level High in 1999 led Greg to Calgary Alberta. He toured North America, playing upright and electric bass at various festivals , theaters, arenas & television, radio , award shows for various artists through out his storied career:

In 2018 Greg partnered with some old familiar road friends in Black Mountain Whiskey Rebellion as a bassist and co songwriter. They recorded their self titled album and enjoyed some success with Holy Smoke , recognized by Rolling Stone Magazine in July 2018 .In early 2020 , Greg was inspired after several writing trips to Nashville with fellow band mate Erik Dylan (one of the writers for Luke Combs, Riley Green ) Greg wrote several songs in tribute to First Nations soldiers including Never Coming Back From Vietnam, which still gets airplay on Indigiverse Sirus XM
Today Greg is a proud adjudicator for the Juno Awards & virtual instructor and Mentor for Inuit & northern First Nations kids with Connected North.
Greg continues writing songs , performing solo shows & releasing new music (coming soon!) After 35 plus years of buses & airplanes , Greg is enjoying retirement from touring as a bassist. He currently resides in Colchester County Nova Scotia with his wife & plans on continuing to pay it forward by offering his talent & expertise.
