Valmy

Valmy is a St. John's-based singer-songwriter who’s been following the ocean and making home on the East Coast. Exploring the complexities of relationship, loss, and healing, she uses her folk-influenced music to tell stories about loving and stumbling your way through the dark. Valmy's debut album, ‘The In Between’ weaves nature-inspired melodic swells and atmospheric harmonies with her contemplative writing and arrangements. Following this warmly received release, Valmy was awarded MusicNL’s 2024 ‘Solo Artist of the Year’, nominated for the African-Canadian Artist of the Year East Coast Music Award, and toured her music through Newfoundland, the Maritimes, Quebec, and Ontario. Valmy is also a proud member of the folk trio and four-piece bands, Topanga, and Lady Lupin, enjoying the opportunity to connect with audiences through her solo project as well as alongside her bandmates.
